At the time of your admission you were examined
for the possibility of a head injury. Although no evidence of
serious injury was found at this time, contact your physician
immediately if any of the following conditions occur:
- Drowsiness or undue irritability
- Nausea and vomiting
- Blurred or double vision or one pupil larger than the other
- Dizziness
- Persistent headache (do not give potent pain relieving drugs
or sedatives)
- Weakness of the face, arm or leg muscles
- Mental confusion or convulsions
- Irregular or labored breathing
- Difficulty speaking, slurred or incoherent speech
It is wise to check the patient every
two or three hours during the first twenty-four hours night and
day to check for level or consciousness and the above symptoms.
These checks should be continued beyond twenty-four hours if
any doubt exists.
